The World Is Bright

Screen The World is Bright for free for World Mental Health Awareness!

Story Money Impact is helping anyone in Canada to organize their own screening of this powerful film about immigration and mental health. Simply register using the form below — you can organize a personal viewing, a staff screening, or a public facing event. This film will be available between October 1st to 31st 2024.

The World is Bright follows the 10-year journey of a Chinese couple searching for the truth behind their son's death in Canada. The film is a rare revelation of immigration, mental health and a Kafkaesque state bureaucracy at the heart of global migration.

Help us stimulate safe conversations about mental health and wellness in immigrant communities, and use your screening to connect mental health and immigrant organizations to share knowledge, resources, and capacity in serving the mental health of immigrants through the lens of cultural humility.

After watching the film, please take a minute to complete our survey - it helps us to measure and iterate our work to create change.

Use our discussion guide to help your screening group have a safe and helpful conversation about mental health in your family and community.

Are you an ESL teacher? Use our ESL lesson plan, appropriate for use by LINC instructors to fulfill Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) levels 3 - 8.
